We are supplying and installing Gustaf Natural Oak Veneered Panels to the reception walls in the Beatrice Shilling Building.

The development is due to complete in early 2020 and includes the construction of a four-storey steel frame and pre-cast concrete superstructure to accommodate additional students for the Faculty of Engineering, Environment and Computing.

The Beatrice Shilling Building will adjoin to the faculty’s existing teaching block, via a covered bridge. This will provide an additional range of learning spaces. The building will include a gaming and virtual reality studio, a specialist area for 3D printing and rapid prototyping, a laser facility, and physics and electronics laboratories, all designed around a full-height central atrium.

The main component of the new development is an ultra-modern 50 metre swimming pool which boasts movable floors, beams and a 500-spectator pool viewing gallery. Coventry City Council hope to hold swimming events, galas and sports events there, as well as offering public swimming facilities. So, ensuring that the pool looks immaculate and modern for many years to come is a top priority. In keeping with these brand new, modern leisure facilities, the wood panelling that Giotto’s skilled workmen are installing is cutting edge too.

Oranit Siluvit Acoustic wood panelling is specially waterproofed on all sides with a special pool safe lacquer, along with brads that are galvanised to prevent corrosion. The materials we are using are perfectly suited to this kind of wet environment, ensuring that Coventry’s brand new, state of the art will look great for years to come.

Our specialist wood panelling has an Oranit American Yellow Pine Stained Timber finish and will take three to four weeks to install. Once complete, these new facilities with boast an additional health suite with a jacuzzi, steam room and sauna, along with swimming education facilities and a fitness suite and function rooms.

Over a period of 8 weeks our team has delivered a comprehensive refurbishment project at Siemen’s Heaton factory in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne which included new office configuration on the ground floor, new offices, reconfiguration of first floor offices and total refurbishment of toilet and shower rooms refurbishment for both male and female employees.

As well as being part of the Council’s Modernisation Programme, this new office also supports the regeneration of Colwyn Bay. Bringing people in to the heart of Colwyn Bay will bring vitality, footfall and an anticipated additional spend in the town of up to £1m by people using this new building.

The main works, carried out by Bowmer and Kirkland, were due to be completed in October 2018. Giotto’s skilled workmen were called in to carry out an Oranit walnut panelling fit out in the entrance and reception area of the new building.

Giotto Group delivered a bright new office environment, completing a new office fit out in Azure’s listed building located on Castle Street, in the historic town of Chester.

The project included an impressive new reception area, glass partitions to provide light and airy inspirational spaces, an improved meeting room, updated office space to enhance the working environment for the team, and a newly refurbished kitchen.

First impressions count

A professional and smart reception area is vital for presenting your brand correctly and creating the right first impression for all visitors, whether they are clients or prospective employees. Furniture placement, decorations and space considerations were all part of the design so that visitors to Azure’s office have a positive experience the moment they step through the door.

Giotto recommended Polyflor Forest fx PUR, heavy commercial wood effect in vinyl in Brazilian Walnut finish for Azure’s reception area. It provides a hard wearing, abrasive and slip resistant surface whilst being very easy to maintain. Modern and attractive, it is the ideal flooring solution for a welcoming reception area.

Besides the comfort and practicality of the new reception area, the company’s brand colours and logo design feature prominently on the wall.

Commercial Carpeting

Desso business carpets are a leading European manufacturer of high-quality carpets and carpet tiles for commercial application. Azure chose Desso’s Flux broadloom carpet for its clean and elegant appearance. A heavy duty structured loop pile carpet, it is ideal for commercial office use.It has yarns in a linear pattern, adding a lively character and depth.

Glass for exterior and interior application

The project’s single glazed Mazzano frameless screens and doors were supplied by European Glass. European Glass supply all types of glass products for both exterior and interior architectural applications.

The fit out was completed by new UPVC windows, supplied by Osprey, that ensured the character, appearance and integrity of the listed building that is home to Azure Collection was preserved whilst improving thermal efficiency.

The Brief

Giotto’s carefully selected team of in-house specialists worked closely with Merseyrail, devising the appropriate design response by understanding their client’s requirements, resulting in the design of their workspace interior with people and space in mind whilst considering the needs and wants of the individuals thus encouraging a functional, practical, stylish and creative workspace interior.

A complete refurbishment to the 3 floors of the 1960’s rail house, removing old claustrophobic offices, transforming the tired workspace and décor. Employing a forward thinking approach from both Giotto and Merseyrail, their vision was turned into reality with a combination of glass partitioning, break out areas, meeting and conference rooms resulting in an airy and open plan environment. Installation of a full air conditioning system, all new electrical wiring and data cabling will now allow personnel to enjoy their new working environment. Outstanding features included a vibrant colour scheme voted for by Merseyrail’s personnel.

The Giotto Group co-ordinated this dynamic programme whilst Merseyrail’s Head Office was fully occupied and working as normal during which time, the Giotto workspace team ensured a stress- free and smooth operation.
